About Me

Hi! I’m Lindsay and I am so grateful you are here. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #96136) in the State of California. Let me tell you a little about myself. Initially I was interested in becoming a teacher. In high school, I had an internship in Detroit as a teacher aide and saw the need for mental health services for students. This led to an undergraduate Psychology major at Denison University and graduate studies at University of Southern California Suzanne-Dworak Peck School of Social Work, where I interned at a charter school (East Los Angeles) and a public school (South Los Angeles). Inevitably I encountered the barriers often faced by school counselors: high student-to-counselor ratios, lack of access and resources, and an emphasis on immediate, short-term results.

I changed my focus to community mental health where the more formal setting enabled me to better address the emotional and mental health needs of children and caregivers. Encountering my own early childhood loss, I have always been interested in learning how traumas and early life experiences impact a person; and how instrumental support can be. This motivated me to work with children aged 0-5 and their caregivers in East Los Angeles. I provided support and interventions focused on improving attachment and attunement, processing trauma, and fostering healthy development. My tools were Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). The experience gave me skills necessary to work with individuals experiencing ongoing traumas and stressors. This transferred seamlessly when I began working with the military population in San Diego.

Missing working with kids, I returned to the child mental health world and worked at an outpatient clinic. Unfortunately I again came across the pressure to “fix” rather than “foster and develop.” This led me to create something unique: a consultative approach and a deep passion for 0-5 mental health services.

When I’m not in the office, you can catch me creating anything unique! I love engaging in arts and crafts such as embroidery, card-making, and taking photos of whatever catches my eye! When I’m not creating art, I’m with my husband and dog adventuring in the mountains or the beach!
