FAQ

“Do you take insurance?”

At this time, unfortunately consultations are not recognized as a billable service by insurance companies and therefore are not reimbursable. I do not accept insurance for therapy services for children ages 0–5. These services are offered on a private-pay basis to allow for greater flexibility and privacy in your child’s care. If you would like to use your health insurance policy with out-of-network benefits I may send you a monthly superbill upon request. You then may submit the super bill to their insurance provider. Please note that I cannot guarantee reimbursement eligibility. It is recommended that you contact your insurance company for full details.

“What’s your cancellation policy?”

If you need to cancel, I ask that you please notify me within 24 business hours. If the notification is less than 24 business hours, I charge the full session rate. Please notify me by phone or email: [email protected]

“What is your fee?”

For a 50-minute consultation/coaching session, the fee is $160. Half is required to book the appointment and the remaining half is due post-session. You will receive an invoice to pay the remainder. For a 50-minute 0-5 dyadic therapy session, I charge $180. Payment is due post-service. I do have limited spots available for sliding scale, should the current rate not fit within your budget. Please reach out and we can speak further about your circumstance and I will do my best to accommodate.

“What can I expect in a consultation session?”

Each 50-minute session is held virtually on Google Meet. We’ll start by discussing your concerns and what’s happening at home. I’ll share insight into your child’s behavior and offer practical, evidence-based strategies.

Together, we’ll create a set of realistic action steps and I’ll provide helpful follow-up resources you can refer to between sessions. The conversation is collaborative and judgment-free—you bring your knowledge of your child, and I bring professional guidance to support you with clarity and confidence.

“How many consultation sessions do I need?”

It is completely up to you. Because it is not a therapeutic relationship, there is no obligation or commitment to attend weekly sessions. That being said, I will offer my recommendations as to whether I think weekly, biweekly, monthly, or quarterly consultations are necessary.

“How are consultation sessions different from therapy?”

Parent consultations are designed to give you practical tools and a clear plan, not to provide mental health treatment. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I draw on my professional training to guide you in evidence-based strategies for everyday parenting challenges—like handling tantrums, easing anxiety, or setting loving limits.

Unlike therapy, these sessions don’t involve diagnosing or treating mental health conditions. Instead, we work together in a skills-based, goal-oriented way so you leave each session with concrete steps you can start using right away. Think of it as a focused partnership: you bring your unique knowledge of your child, and I bring proven techniques and a supportive space to help your family thrive.

“Is parent consultation the same as parent coaching?”

Parent consultation and parent coaching share many similarities—both are collaborative, skills-based ways to help you feel more confident and connected as a parent. The key difference is that, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I bring a mental-health background and advanced training in evidence-based strategies that I have used directly in my work as a previous therapist. Although, I tend to use the terms interchangeably. While our sessions are not therapy, this clinical experience allows me to offer practical, research-supported tools and a deeper understanding of child and family dynamics than a typical coaching model might provide.
