Cookie Policy Addendum: Mental Health & Therapy Services

Because Secure Roots Parent Consultation, Licensed Clinical Social Worker Inc. now offers mental health services alongside parent consultation, the following additional privacy and tracking disclosures apply:

1. No Cookies or Tracking Technologies Are Used on Any HIPAA-Protected Pages

All mental health treatment services—including intake, assessment, scheduling, messaging, and clinical documentation—occur exclusively through SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant platform.
No cookies, pixels, analytics tools, or tracking technologies from our main website (including Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or Square) operate within SimplePractice.

SimplePractice has its own HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, separate from this website.

2. Cookies on This Website Do Not Collect or Store Protected Health Information (PHI)

Cookies used on this website (e.g., analytics tools, advertising pixels, functional cookies) collect only general browsing data and do not gather, store, or transmit:

  • Mental health information
  • Information about diagnosis, treatment, symptoms, or concerns
  • Information submitted through HIPAA-protected forms
  • Any data that would identify you as a therapy client

We do not use cookies to infer mental health treatment, treatment-seeking behavior, or sensitive characteristics.

3. Links From the Blog or Website to Therapy Services Do Not Trigger Tracking of PHI

Our blog articles, emails, and website pages may include links to book therapy services or learn more about mental health offerings.
Clicking these links may be counted as general site traffic (e.g., click-through analytics), but no PHI is collected, stored, or tied to a unique user profile.

4. No Tracking Tools Are Used on Contact Forms Where Personal Health Information May Be Disclosed

Our general contact form collects only basic information (name, email, and optional text fields).
We strongly encourage users not to submit clinical or sensitive information in the contact form.
To avoid accidental collection of PHI:

  • No Meta Pixel event tracking is activated on the contact form
  • No Google Analytics event tracking is used on form submission
  • No third-party advertising tools are tied to form interactions

If you provide clinical or sensitive details in a contact form, that information is handled confidentially and is not used for analytics, marketing, or tracking.

5. Advertising and Retargeting Are Limited to Non-Therapy Services

We may use cookies and pixels for marketing parent consultation services, blog content, or educational resources.
However, we do not use advertising pixels to target, track, or remarket therapy services.

We do not use retargeting that could reasonably identify someone as seeking mental health services.

6. Website Cookies Do Not Create or Establish a Therapeutic Relationship

Engaging with this website—including browsing, accepting cookies, clicking links, or completing forms—does not establish:

  • A therapist–client relationship
  • A mental health service agreement
  • A duty of care

A formal therapeutic relationship begins only after completing the intake process on SimplePractice and signing required clinical consent forms.

7. Third-Party Tools May Collect Standard Analytics Only

Embedded or linked third-party services on the general website (such as Square, Instagram, or newsletter sign-up forms) may collect typical device and usage information.
These tools do not collect PHI, and we do not share any clinical information with third parties.

8. Optional: Opting Out of Non-Essential Cookies

You may adjust your browser settings or use opt-out tools to limit or disable non-essential cookies.
This will not affect your access to therapy services.
